I knew before I started that it was to be a painting of different ages of elephants in different stages of life so I roughly sketched them out and then collaged small images of elephants around three sides of the painting surface and inside the painting. We need to protect them to ensure they will be around for future generations.
The small images are slightly painted over so they become part of the painting and add mystery.

I tell them, "all my life," and that's also how long it has taken me to create that last painting. I have just added to my skills and knowledge along the way.
What you see is a culmination of a lifetime of expressing and interpreting my life through my art.
This new featured painting is acrylic on canvas with collage.
There are many layers of acrylics as the painting changed many times until it “felt” right. We are beginning to realize how deeply elephants feel and emphasize with each other.
